PRP Hair Restoration

Introducing PRP Hair Restoration

The Power of Plasma

Platelet-Rich Plasma or PRP is a substance from your own body used to promote growth and prevent hair loss when injected into the scalp as part of a PRP Hair Restoration therapy treatment. Plasma is a component of your blood that contains special “factors,” or proteins, that help your blood clot. It also contains proteins that support cell growth. PRP is produced by isolating plasma from other parts of the blood and concentrating it to apply into your scalp.

Less Time. Less Pain. More Effective.

The science behind PRP Hair Restoration is that injecting PRP into the diminishing hairline will stimulate your body to grow new, healthy cells, prolong growth stage of existing hair follicles, and promote the growth of new hair, thus preventing hair loss. Because growth factors are more concentrated in the prepared growth injections, the body’s tissues will grow stronger and faster. As compared to other thinning hair treatments such as minoxidil or hair transplantation, the results have been more dramatic and less painful. Patients typically note seeing decreased hair shedding, followed by early regrowth and increased length of their hair. Patients receiving treatments every six to nine months after initial series of treatments are completed will continue to stimulate the growth factors and stem cells that are associated with regrowth and stopping hair fallout.

How does PRP Hair Restoration work?

PRP Hair Restoration will help return your hair to its fullest potential. As part of the procedure, an initial consult will include a review of your receding hairline where we will pinpoint specific areas for injection, for plasma placement.

Here’s what to expect from a typical PRP injection process:

We will draw a sample of your blood. The amount of the sample depends on where the PRP will be injected. For example, the amount of blood taken for injection into the scalp is about 10 milliliters. This is slightly less than one teaspoon. The blood is placed in a centrifuge. This is a machine that spins around very quickly, causing the blood components to separate. The separation process takes about 10 minutes. We take the separated plasma and prepare it for injection into the affected area. We then inject small amounts of PRP into the affected area using a very small needle and hashtag pattern of plasma placement.

Hair Restoration Experience and Results

The PRP Hair Restoration procedure is a very tolerable experience. Since it’s nonsurgical, the process is completely free of anaesthetics or incisions and consist of a blood draw and several pinpoint injections in the affected area.

After you and your doctor determine the exact treatment area, a plan is developed for a series of 3-6 hair treatments. Treatments take an hour or less, so sit back and take it easy as we take care of your hairline.

As for the results, they can speak for themselves and in many cases, results are noticeable within a month or two after starting a series. The full impact of treatments is visible within a 6-12 month period -results improving every consecutive month.

For best results, consistency is key. Treatments are typically performed once a month for the first few months, and then every six to nine months thereafter, depending on the individual patient’s response and results.
